Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Senior Full Stack AI Engineer / AI Agent Developer to support a manufacturing technology organization responsible for critical applications used across global powertrain and transmission operations. This individual will help modernize legacy applications, develop new features, support production environments, and introduce AI-driven capabilities that improve operational intelligence and manufacturing efficiency.
This is a highly technical, hands-on engineering role requiring a strong foundation in enterprise software development, data modeling, and AI application development. The ideal candidate will have experience building scalable applications, leveraging operational data for business value, and developing AI-enabled solutions beyond traditional chatbot implementations.
The environment is heavily focused on software engineering, with approximately 90% of the role dedicated to hands-on coding and technical solution development.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise manufacturing applications supporting production operations.
- Build modern frontend solutions utilizing React and TypeScript.
- Design and develop backend services, APIs, and integrations using Java and/or Node.js.
- Support the modernization and redevelopment of legacy systems while ensuring production stability.
- Develop and optimize PostgresSQL/Oracle/MSSQL database structures, schemas, and data models.
- Build AI-powered applications and agentic workflows that leverage operational and manufacturing data.
- Evaluate, review, and improve AI-generated code to ensure quality, maintainability, and scalability.
- Design and implement integrations between AI services, enterprise applications, databases, and operational systems.
- Participate in production support, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and application enhancements.
- Work closely with data architects, software engineers, and business stakeholders to identify opportunities for AI-driven automation and decision support.
- Analyze manufacturing data and operational trends to support predictive and intelligent business solutions.
- Contribute to future AI initiatives involving intelligent agents, predictive analytics, and operational optimization.

Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of Full Stack Development experience
- Strong experience with Java or .NET backend development
- Strong experience with React and TypeScript/JavaScript
- Experience with PostgresSQL/Oracle/MSSQL, database design, and data modeling
- Experience building and consuming REST APIs
- Experience developing and supporting enterprise-scale applications
- Experience integrating, supporting, or developing AI-enabled applications
- Ability to review and validate AI-generated code
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Experience working in Agile development environments
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Experience building AI agents or agentic workflows
- Experience with LangChain, LangGraph, Semantic Kernel, CrewAI, or similar frameworks
- Experience with RAG, vector databases, embeddings, or tool calling
- Experience with Node.js and Python
- Experience modernizing legacy applications
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, cloud technologies, and CI/CD
- Automotive, manufacturing, or industrial systems experience
