Job Description

Insight Global is seeking an E&C Engineer I to support a major utility client on two single-cycle combustion turbine generation projects. This individual will serve as a field-based engineering resource supporting construction execution, EPC coordination, engineering issue resolution, and commissioning activities throughout the project lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting large-scale EPC projects, construction field activities, and resolving technical challenges in collaboration with project stakeholders.
This role will work closely with project managers, construction managers, engineering teams, EPC contractors, and equipment manufacturers to ensure successful project delivery. The position is expected to be onsite daily and will play a key role in supporting both construction and start-up activities.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Support EPC Request for Information (RFI) submittal and response processes
Review engineering drawings and construction documents
Coordinate resolution of open engineering issues during construction
Provide technical oversight of field construction activities
Assist with commissioning and startup activities for combustion turbine systems
Coordinate with EPC contractors, turbine manufacturers, vendors, and internal project teams
Support document control and engineering transmittal processes
Attend project meetings and provide field engineering updates
Assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues encountered during construction

Required Skills & Experience

Must-Have Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related engineering discipline
Experience supporting EPC or large industrial construction projects
Familiarity with RFI processes and engineering document management
Experience working in field-based construction or industrial environments
Strong communication and coordination skills
Ability to work effectively with internal teams, contractors, and vendors
Valid driver's license
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Teams
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting utility, power generation, or energy infrastructure projects
Experience working with Siemens combustion turbines
Mechanical engineering background
Experience with document management systems such as SharePoint, InEight, or TeamBinder
Professional Engineer (PE) license
Previous experience with EPC firms such as Kiewit, Burns & McDonnell, Black & Veatch, Sargent & Lundy, Siemens, or large utility providers
