Job Description
An employer is looking for a Junior Software Engineer in the Addison, TX area. You will be joining the engineering team for a software company that offers enterprise Content Management software/ products. You will primarily be focused on Java/ JavaScript development efforts, tied to a large migration for one of their customers that is integrating their system. You will partner with senior engineers to aid in these efforts and tasks will include engineering full stack solutions, indexing, new configurations, troubleshooting/ support and fielding requests from the client related to the migration as tickets are routed to the team. You will also help with related testing efforts, software releases, and bug fixes as needed.

Required Skills & Experience
1+ year experience in Java, JavaScript development including object-oriented programming, Collections, Streams, and exception handling
Understanding of SQL and relational databases, queries, etc.
Experience working with application configuration files such as XML, YAML, and properties files
Comfortable working in Linux environments with basic shell scripting knowledge
Ability to analyze logs, troubleshoot technical issues, and solve problems across applications, databases, and operating systems
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with a willingness to learn new technologies
Ability to work effectively with customers and collaborate with Development, QA, DevOps, Product, and Customer Support teams
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
REST APIs and system integrations
Mainframe skills
CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitLab CI
Docker or container technologies
AI-assisted development tools (such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar) and a basic understanding of AI concepts, including large language models (LLMs) and prompt engineering
