Job Description

The Senior Transportation Infrastructure Project Manager will serve as the lead project manager for major transportation and infrastructure initiatives, overseeing projects from planning and design through construction and closeout. They will be responsible for developing project scopes, schedules, budgets, and work plans while ensuring projects remain on time, within budget, and compliant with funding requirements. The role will partner closely with government agencies, consultants, contractors, and community stakeholders to coordinate project activities, facilitate decision-making, and keep projects moving forward. The Project Manager will monitor project performance, manage grant and funding compliance, review project documentation, oversee third-party vendors, prepare executive-level updates, and proactively identify and resolve risks to support successful delivery of large-scale infrastructure investments.

Required Skills & Experience

10+ years of experience managing complex infrastructure or transportation capital projects
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Planning, Public Administration, Architecture, or a related field.
Experience overseeing projects from planning and design through construction and closeout
Experience working with public-sector organizations, government agencies, and multiple stakeholder group
Strong project management experience managing budgets, schedules, scopes, vendors, consultants, and project deliverables.
Experience administering or working on federally funded projects, ideally involving Federal Transit Administration (FTA) funding
Experience managing projects funded through grants and ensuring compliance with funding requirements and reporting standards
Knowledge of transportation, transit, roadway, multimodal, utility, water, or other large-scale public infrastructure projects
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to coordinate across agencies, consultants, contractors, and leadership teams.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Direct experience managing FTA Capital Investment Grant (CIG) projects or similar federally funded transit initiatives.
Bus Rapid Transit (BRT), transit corridor, complete streets, or multimodal transportation project experience.
Experience working with federal grant compliance, reimbursement programs, and funding oversight.
Professional Engineer (PE), PMP, or related certification
Master's degree
Experience coordinating large consulting teams and third-party vendors
Water infrastructure, utility coordination, right-of-way, roadway, or public works project experience.
Experience working with DOTs, transit agencies, or municipal capital improvement programs.
