Job Description
This role serves as the primary SAP Production Planning (PP) functional expert for a manufacturing organization moving from heavily manual processes to standardized SAP automation. The analyst will immediately support the company’s high-priority “Complete and On-Time” project—beginning at a pilot plant near Nashville—focused on correcting years of manual workarounds and reestablishing SAP-standard MRP and planning processes. Approximately 75–80% of initial workload will be project-focused, including evaluating current manual scheduling practices, conducting process discovery on-site at plants, designing SAP-standard PP solutions, and configuring MRP, planning strategies, material group logic, and related PP functionality. The remaining portion of the role includes ongoing SAP PP support, such as configuring planning calendars, handling enhancement requests, managing incidents via ServiceNow, and partnering with business users across procurement, production execution, inventory/warehouse, and fulfillment.
This person will gather requirements, translate business needs into SAP configuration, produce functional specifications for development, support testing (SIT/UAT), drive documentation and SOP updates, and deliver end-user training to help stabilize and standardize planning processes across the enterprise. The role requires strong business engagement—walking the plant floor, meeting with schedulers and planners, facilitating process reviews, and driving adoption of standard SAP practices. Over time, the analyst will participate in broader manufacturing solution architecture efforts and support the company’s long-term move toward S/4HANA.
