Job Description

The E4 Electrical Controls Engineer provides senior‑level technical leadership for assigned automation projects, with responsibility for guiding electrical and controls solutions from early concept through implementation. In this role, the engineer reviews and influences machine and system designs, ensuring technical soundness, cost effectiveness, and alignment with manufacturing and business objectives. Day‑to‑day responsibilities include translating grass‑roots automation concepts into scalable electrical and controls architectures, defining system requirements, evaluating and selecting PLC platforms, robotics solutions, and control hardware, and overseeing the development of detailed electrical designs using AutoCAD Electrical or equivalent tools. The engineer brings deep expertise in PLC programming, system integration, and full robotic integration to guide design decisions and resolve complex technical challenges. This role plays a key part in cost management by weighing trade‑offs in design approach, hardware selection, and system complexity. The E4 independently manages long‑term projects, setting technical direction, developing schedules, coordinating cross‑functional stakeholders, and communicating status, risks, and decisions to leadership. Shop floor involvement will vary by project phase, with focused engagement during build, commissioning, startup, and critical troubleshooting activities to ensure successful project outcomes.
