Job Description

As part of the Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team, the Page Performance Engineer is responsible
for improving frontend performance across our eCommerce platform by optimizing Core Web Vitals,
identifying performance bottlenecks, and driving performance best practices across engineering
teams.
Key Responsibilities
• Analyze and improve website performance using Core Web Vitals (LCP, INP, CLS).
• Investigate rendering, JavaScript, network, caching, image, and browser performance issues.
• Perform audits using Lighthouse, Chrome DevTools, WebPageTest, PageSpeed Insights, CrUX, and
RUM tools.
• Partner with React.js and Next.js teams to optimize rendering, bundle size, code splitting, caching,
and asset delivery.
• Benchmark performance against leading eCommerce websites and recommend industry best
practices.
• Define performance standards, monitor regressions, and establish performance governance.
• Collaborate with SRE, Product, UX, SEO, Architecture, and Engineering teams to embed
performance into the SDLC.
• Present actionable recommendations and mentor teams on frontend performance best practices.

Required Skills & Experience

Hybrid onsite 3 days per week

8+ years of frontend engineering experience with 3+ years in web performance optimization.
• Expertise in React.js, Next.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
• Strong understanding of browser rendering, Core Web Vitals, networking, caching, CDN
optimization, and HTTP protocols.
• Experience with Lighthouse, Chrome DevTools, WebPageTest, PageSpeed Insights, CrUX, RUM,
mPulse, or Dynatrace.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, collaboration, and communication skills.
Success Measures
• Improve Core Web Vitals across key customer journeys.
• Reduce page load time, JavaScript execution time, and performance regressions.
• Increase Lighthouse scores and establish engineering performance standards.
