Job Description

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support a Design Liaison Engineering team focused on annular Hot Gas Path components. This role plays a critical part in supporting the global supply chain and manufacturing partners by analyzing, dispositioning, and resolving hardware deviations on complex turbine components.
This is a hands-on, highly collaborative role where the engineer will apply core mechanical engineering principles to real-world manufacturing challenges involving advanced rotating machinery. The position supports both short-term hardware issue resolution and longer-term design improvements to enhance manufacturability, quality, cost, and reliability.

Key responsibilities include:

Analyze and disposition non-conforming or deviating gas turbine hardware using mechanical engineering assessments.
Apply mechanical engineering fundamentals to resolve manufacturing issues on hot gas path components (e.g., blades, nozzles, heat shields).
Leverage analytical tools to evaluate hardware deviations and deliver technical solutions.
Support redesign efforts by revising engineering drawings to improve manufacturability and prevent repeat issues.
Serve as a technical focal point for qualification of new processes, engineering changes, and second-source suppliers.
Conduct technical reviews and help assess risk at the component, assembly, and system levels.
Follow standard work instructions and design templates while contributing to continuous improvement of engineering and manufacturing processes.
Ensure adherence to engineering standards, design quality, and technical accuracy.
Apply foundational gas turbine design knowledge to improve part functionality and reduce cost.
Collaborate closely with suppliers, factories, and cross-functional engineering teams while fostering a culture of quality, urgency, and accountability.

We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day. Required Skills & Experience

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university or equivalent relevant experience.
Ability to collaborate effectively in a cross-functional, global engineering organization.
Strong ability to adapt to shifting priorities based on evolving business and manufacturing needs.
Basic understanding of manufacturing processes, methods, materials, and coatings.
Understanding of GD&T with the ability to interpret engineering drawings and bills of materials

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Familiarity with ANSYS, NX, or other engineering and analytical tools.
Experience with non-conformance dispositioning, including applying mechanical engineering judgment to deviating hardware.
Prior mechanical engineering experience designing or supporting gas turbine hardware or similar rotating machinery.
Exposure to hot gas path components such as blades, nozzles, shrouds, or heat shields.
Experience supporting manufacturing or supply chain organizations in an engineering liaison or support role.

Benefit packages for this role will start on the 1st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
