Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Payroll Specialist to support payroll operations within a fast-paced, high-growth organization. This role is critical in ensuring accurate and compliant payroll processing, particularly within unionized environments tied to frequent acquisitions. Key Responsibilities
- Process end-to-end payroll cycles, including payroll for union employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with union agreements
- Review, approve, and audit employee timecards to ensure proper pay calculations
- Address employee payroll inquiries and provide timely, customer-focused support
- Manage and respond to payroll-related tickets through ServiceNow or similar ticketing systems
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to resolve payroll discrepancies
- Support communication and coordination with union representatives regarding payroll requirements
- Maintain payroll data integrity, including W-2 processing and tax-related documentation
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to process improvements in a high-volume environment

Required Skills & Experience

- 3+ years of payroll processing experience
- Hands-on experience with Workday
- Strong understanding of payroll taxes, W-2s, and compliance requirements
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, formulas)
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills with a customer-service mindset
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- Experience supporting union payroll processes
- Experience with ServiceNow or similar ticketing systems
- Payroll certifications (CPP, FPC)
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
