Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Director of Health Information Services & HIPAA Compliance to lead all Health Information Management (HIM) operations while ensuring organizational compliance with HIPAA, privacy, security, and health information regulations. This individual will oversee health information staff, develop and maintain privacy policies, manage release of information processes, support EHR optimization initiatives, and serve as the organization's Privacy Officer. The ideal candidate combines strong HIM leadership experience with deep knowledge of regulatory compliance, health information systems, and operational excellence.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
-Lead and manage Health Information Services operations, including oversight of HIM staff, productivity standards, workflow development, and performance management.
-Serve as the HIPAA Privacy Officer and oversee privacy compliance initiatives across the organization.
-Develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures related to health information management, privacy, security, access, and release of information.
-Investigate privacy complaints, conduct risk assessments, monitor compliance, and report breaches as required by regulatory agencies.
-Partner with operational and clinical leaders to support EHR optimization, health information security, and organizational compliance efforts.
-Conduct audits, oversee business associate and data use agreements, and ensure adherence to federal and state healthcare regulations.
-Manage vendor relationships and external record review requests while serving as custodian of records for legal and regulatory matters.

Required Skills & Experience
-RHIA or RHIT certification required.
-2+ years of management experience with responsibility for healthcare regulatory compliance and policy development.
-Strong knowledge of HIPAA, privacy/security regulations, release of information, and electronic health information systems.
-Experience leading HIM operations, staff management, process improvement, and compliance programs.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
-Experience serving as a Privacy Officer within a healthcare organization.
-Familiarity with Epic or comparable EHR platforms.
-Experience conducting HIPAA audits, privacy investigations, and regulatory reporting.
-Background managing coding, ROI, compliance, and health information operations
