Job Description
We are seeking a Director of Master Data Management (MDM) to lead enterprise-wide MDM strategy and execution, with a focus on Customer and Supplier domains. This role will drive data governance, stewardship, and data quality initiatives to enable business growth, operational efficiency, and data-driven decision-making.
This leader will own the vision, design, and execution of MDM data products, while leading a cross-functional team and partnering closely with stakeholders across Enterprise Applications, Sales, Supply Chain, Finance, and HR. The Director will play a key role in advancing data governance maturity, standardization, and enterprise-wide adoption of high-quality master data.
Key Responsibilities
Define and execute the enterprise MDM strategy aligned to digital transformation initiatives
Lead MDM initiatives across Customer and Supplier domains
Establish and scale Master Data domains, governance frameworks, and operating models
Drive data harmonization and standardization across the enterprise to ensure consistency
Build and lead a team of MDM Architects, Data Stewards, and Analysts
Own data quality, stewardship, and governance processes
Develop and track KPIs/metrics to measure MDM effectiveness and business impact
Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to drive adoption and alignment
Implement best practices, automation, and scalable data models
Champion a data accuracy and governance culture across the organization
Oversee development and delivery of MDM data products and platforms (Informatica)
Drive continuous improvement and operational excellence in master data processes

Required Skills & Experience
10+ years of IT / enterprise applications experience
7+ years specifically in Master Data Management (Customer, Supplier, Product, or Reference domains)
Proven experience leading enterprise MDM strategy and implementations
Hands-on experience with Informatica MDM solutions
Experience building MDM functions from the ground up (domains + governance)
Strong leadership experience managing cross-functional teams (MDM, Data Stewards, Architects)
Deep understanding of:
Data governance & stewardship frameworks
Data quality & standardization practices
Experience partnering with business stakeholders across multiple functions (Sales, Supply Chain, Finance, etc.)
Strong ability to define KPIs and measure business impact of data initiatives
Exceptional communication skills with ability to present to technical and executive audiences
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Experience in multiple master data domains (Customer, Supplier, Product, Reference)
Background in AI/ML, statistics, or advanced analytics
Experience with enterprise data product design or data platforms
Prior experience driving MDM in large, complex enterprise environments (distribution/supply chain preferred)
Experience with automation and advanced data modeling techniques
Master’s Degree in a relevant field
MDM-related certifications
Experience managing data-intensive or ML-driven initiatives
