Job Description
We are seeking a hands‑on Disaster Recovery Engineer to help assess, design, and strengthen recovery capabilities across Tier‑0 (T0) infrastructure. This role focuses on engineering and architecture, not just documentation or running existing playbooks. The engineer will evaluate real failure modes across identity, network, virtualization, and backup platforms, partner closely with Infrastructure, Application, and Security teams, and help design both remediation strategies and future‑state disaster recovery solutions.
This is a highly impactful role for someone comfortable operating in ambiguity, building recovery programs from the ground up, and combining deep technical execution with architectural thinking.
Key Responsibilities (Day‑to‑Day)
Assess Tier‑0 infrastructure resiliency both horizontally (dependencies across systems) and vertically (stack‑level failures).
Identify real‑world failure modes, not just theoretical risks.
Partner with Infrastructure, Application, and Security teams to:
Identify resiliency gaps
Engineer practical recovery options
Design remediation plans and future‑state DR architectures
Support the buildout of recovery infrastructure, including tooling evaluation and architecture.
Participate in disaster recovery exercises after foundational engineering work is complete.
Produce clear, effective technical documentation and diagrams (diagrams prioritized over policies).
This is hands‑on engineering with architectural ownership, not an analysis‑only or business continuity documentation role.
