Job Description

Day to Day:

Insight Global is seeking a Senior Software Development Process & Quality Engineer to support a highly regulated engineering organization. This individual will focus on software process governance, quality analysis, and audit readiness, partnering closely with Engineering and Corporate Quality teams.

This is NOT a hands-on development, Agile coaching, or testing role.

Responsibilities:

Analyze, define, and govern software development and quality processes aligned with ISO requirements
Execute internal ISO audits, SDLC gap analysis, and process data analysis
Evaluate process adherence across requirements, design, development, testing, release, and change control
Identify process gaps, risks, and nonconformances and drive corrective actions with engineering teams
Lead Corrective & Preventive Actions (CAPAs) from root cause through effectiveness validation
Partner with Engineering and Corporate Quality to ensure continuous audit readiness
Support external audits, including preparation of objective evidence and responses
Establish and analyze software quality metrics (defect trends, adherence, effectiveness indicators)
Drive continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining ISO governance
Develop and deliver process and compliance training
Report to senior leadership on software quality and process improvement status

Required Skills & Experience

Must Haves:

Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Engineering, Quality, or related field
10+ years experience supporting software teams / SDLC environments
5+ years in software process, quality, or governance roles
Prior hands-on software development experience (earlier career)
Experience working within or assessing SDLC using CMMI, ASPICE, or ISO frameworks
Experience conducting internal ISO audits, gap analysis, or process assessments
Strong understanding of SDLC governance, process documentation, and change control
Experience in highly regulated industries (rail, automotive, aerospace, medical, etc.)
Comfortable enforcing process adherence while influencing cross‑functional teams
Strong communication skills (English)
Advanced MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint)

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Nice to Haves:

12–15 years total experience
Experience in rail, transportation, aerospace, or safety‑critical industries
Exposure to ISO 22163 (Railway QMS), SIL, or similar standards
Experience supporting external ISO or customer audits
Familiarity with software quality metrics and continuous improvement frameworks
Experience in large, matrixed engineering organizations
ISO Lead Auditor certification (with software background)
Exposure to Power BI, PowerApps, Python
