Insight Global is seeking a Propulsion Mechanical Engineer (Mechanical Engineering IV) for a global leader in transportation technology. This engineer will support the design, development, testing, and optimization of rotating electrical machines used in transportation and propulsion applications. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical engineering background with experience supporting electromechanical products, motors, generators, or similar rotating equipment. This role offers the opportunity to work on highly visible engineering programs, collaborate with cross-functional and global teams, and contribute to new product development initiatives that directly impact the future of transportation technology. Required Skills & Experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
• 5+ years of mechanical engineering experience
• Experience designing and supporting rotating electrical machines, motors, generators, or propulsion systems
• Strong understanding of electric machine design principles
• Experience supporting engineering design, testing, validation, and manufacturing activities
• Proficiency reading and creating engineering drawings
• GD&T expertise
• Experience with tolerance stack-up analysis
• Experience presenting technical information to engineering teams and stakeholders
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
• Ability to work onsite in Erie, PA throughout the engagement
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Transportation, locomotive, rail, heavy industrial, aerospace, power generation, or propulsion industry experience
• Experience with stress analysis, CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics), and vibration analysis
• ANSYS or equivalent simulation software experience
• Six Sigma knowledge or certification
• Experience creating DFMEAs
• New product development (NPD) experience
• Factory/manufacturing engineering support experience
• Product reliability engineering experience
• Experience working with global engineering teams
• Electromechanical design experience involving motors and generators
