Job Description

Insight Global is looking for Automation Test Engineers II to work as a contractor for 12 months for one of our large manufacturing clients. In this role, engineers will be responsible for executing full functional testing on solar inverters, converters, and variable frequency drives, including power drive modules and medium‑voltage AC/DC systems. Day to day, this individual will independently troubleshoot equipment, perform insulation, Hi‑Pot, I/O, cooling, and performance testing, and develop test labs, test plans, and procedures aligned with IEC and UL standards. They will support continuous improvement efforts by identifying manufacturing issues, driving zero‑defect and safety‑first culture, and partnering with engineering to improve test design and manufacturability. This role also includes preparing test reports, supporting factory acceptance testing with customers and third parties, ensuring compliance with EHS and LOTO requirements, and tracking lessons learned and first‑pass yield data for manufacturing and engineering leadership.

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field from an accredited university or college with a minimum 3+ years of experience in equipment testing.
Knowledge of electrical equipment manufacturing and exposure to quality, engineering, lean/5S, testing or engineering processes.
Analytical skillset and systematic approach to problem solving.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Customer-focused in product testing and assessing priorities.
Knowledge of IEC and UL certifications and requirements.
Demonstrated commitment for process improvement.
