Job Description

A leading insurance company in the Pacific Northwest is seeking an AI Data Engineer to help design, implement, and scale next-generation AI solutions. This role will focus on building and enabling agentic AI systems while leveraging modern cloud-based data platforms within Azure. The ideal candidate is both technically strong and forward-thinking, someone who can lead direction, influence AI tooling strategy, and translate emerging AI capabilities into real business value. This team directly supports how data is analyzed and utilized for financial cost predictions, which then aids in premium pricing and policy design.

Required Skills & Experience

- Design, build, and deploy agentic AI solutions that automate, orchestrate, and enhance data-driven workflows.
- Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and AI-enabled systems using Azure Databricks.
- Write clean, efficient, and production-ready code using Python and SQL.
- Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and business stakeholders to operationalize AI use cases.
- Lead technical direction and provide thought leadership around AI tools, frameworks, and best practices.
- Evaluation and recommendation for emerging tools such as Claude Code and Superblocks
- Ensure solutions are reliable, secure, and aligned with enterprise data governance standards.
- Support model deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement in production environments.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working within highly regulated industries such as Insurance, Finance, and/or Healthcare
• Familiarity with actuarial data, reporting, or modeling concepts.
