Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Financial Reporting Analyst to join the Finance team of a leading Canadian bank in Toronto. This role will support the preparation, analysis, and validation of financial and regulatory reporting data. The ideal candidate will have strong financial reporting experience, advanced Excel skills, and the ability to work accurately within recurring monthly and quarterly reporting cycles.

This position is well suited for someone who enjoys working with large datasets, investigating variances, ensuring data accuracy, and supporting key reporting deliverables within a structured and deadline-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities
• Prepare, analyze, and validate financial reporting data on a monthly and quarterly basis, and perform ad hoc analysis as needed. Requirement to investigate deeper when needed.
• Gather, consolidate, and reconcile data from multiple sources to support reporting requirements.
• Perform variance analysis, comparing results period-over-period and investigating discrepancies when identified.
• Utilize advanced Excel capabilities, including pivot tables, lookups, formulas, and data analysis techniques.
• Ensure accuracy, completeness, and integrity of reporting outputs through detailed review and quality control processes.
• Support the preparation of reporting packages and provide analysis for management review.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve data issues and improve reporting processes.
• Contribute to ongoing process improvement initiatives within the reporting function.

Required Skills & Experience

• 3+ years of experience in financial reporting, accounting, or reporting-related finance functions.
• Experience working within a large organization, preferably a financial institution.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify, investigate, and explain variances.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, reconciliations, and data manipulation.
• High attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in a repetitive reporting environment.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proven understanding of accounting.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Experience supporting Canadian regulatory reporting functions.
• Experience working within a Canadian banking environment.
• CPA designation or progress toward CPA.
• Exposure to process automation or reporting efficiency initiatives.
