Job Description
We're initiating a short-term engagement to strengthen enterprise-wide data governance using Microsoft Purview. The Purview Consultant will serve as a hands-on technical resource, configuring the platform to scan systems, classify sensitive data, manage logins and access, and implement retention/disposition rules.
This role does not include people management but requires autonomy and deep familiarity with Purview features. The consultant will work closely with architects, data stewards, and compliance teams to operationalize governance across five key domains: Payments, Lending, Deposit, Client, and Finance.

Required Skills & Experience
5+ years' experience in data governance, metadata management, or cataloging
3+ years using Microsoft Purview to perform classification, cataloging, and retention setup
Strong understanding of data classification, sensitivity labeling, and integration across systems
Experience configuring or optimizing Purview workflows to meet audit or regulatory needs
Comfort working independently and managing deliverables across parallel projects
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Experience with Datadog or similar monitoring tools
Familiarity with financial sector data contexts
Knowledge of Azure Data Factory, Synapse, or data pipelines used for metadata scanning
Exposure to data governance maturity models and best-practice frameworks
