Job Description

Insight Global is looking for a Business Analyst to join a leading courier and logistics client located in Mississauga. This is a hybrid role and requires 2-3 days/week on site.

Our client is undertaking a major transformation of its Online Shipping Channel (E‑Ship Online – ESO) as part of its broader Shipping Channels modernization program. The Senior Business Analyst plays a critical role in enabling this transformation by translating customer, business, and operational needs into clear, actionable requirements that support a unified, API‑first, scalable shipping platform across Retail, SMB, Enterprise, and Internal users.
This is a senior, delivery‑embedded role requiring strong analytical leadership, deep understanding of digital channel transformation, and the ability to work effectively across Product, Architecture, Engineering, QA, Commercial, and Operations teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer & Channel Strategy Enablement
- Elicit, analyze, and translate business needs across multiple ESO customer segments (Retail, SOHO, SMB, Enterprise, Internal users) into differentiated workflows, features, and controls 1 2
- Ensure requirements support Purolator’s vision of a single, unified, customer‑centric online shipping experience that replaces fragmented legacy channels 3 4
- Balance usability, administrative control, and scalability in solution design to drive adoption and operational efficiency

Transformation & Future‑State Requirements Leadership
- Lead requirements definition for legacy‑to‑future state transformation, including consolidation of all channels related shipping capabilities
- Decompose complex transformation initiatives into clear epics, features, and acceptance criteria aligned to phased delivery and funding models
- Define business outcomes (e.g., onboarding efficiency, cost‑to‑serve reduction, reliability improvements), not just functional requirements 5

API & Integration‑Aware Business Analysis
- Define business requirements for API‑based and integration‑driven capabilities, including REST & SOAP APIs, partner integrations, and enterprise workflows
- Collaborate closely with Architecture and Engineering teams to ensure business intent is preserved in microservices‑based designs
- Support transition away from SOAP and file‑based integrations toward modern, scalable API models

Agile Delivery & POD Engagement
- Actively support Scrum‑based delivery teams through backlog refinement, sprint planning, reviews, and release readiness activities
- Partner with Product Owners to prioritize scope, manage dependencies, and support incremental releases across ESO phases
- Participate in daily touchpoints and cross‑POD forums to ensure alignment and timely issue resolution

Non‑Functional & Performance Requirements Ownership
-Define and validate non‑functional requirements including performance, scalability, resilience, and reliability for high‑volume shipping scenarios.
-Support UAT, performance testing, and readiness assessments to ensure ESO meets real‑world shipping demands
-Collaborate with QA and Technology teams to ensure acceptance criteria reflect operational and customer expectations

Stakeholder Communication & Change Enablement
-Translate complex technical and delivery concepts into clear, business‑focused narratives for Commercial, Retail, Customer Care, and Leadership audiences
-Support business cases, investment proposals, and benefits articulation for ESO initiatives
-Identify business risks, dependencies, and change impacts associated with channel consolidation and modernization

Ability to analyze legacy systems and translate them into future‑state capabilities
- Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate across Product, Engineering, Architecture, QA, and Business teams
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience supporting executive‑level discussions
- Comfortable operating in environments with evolving scope, incomplete information, and phased funding

Nice to Have Skills & Experience
