QA Lead

Insight Global is looking for a QA Lead to join a leading Courier and Logistics company in Mississauga. This role is remote, but requires occasional visits to Mississauga headquarters for project meetings.

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced QA Lead to lead quality assurance activities for the Enterprise Service Directory (ESD) project. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership capabilities, hands-on knowledge of automation testing, experience working with complex enterprise integrations, and the ability to coordinate across multiple teams and stakeholders.

This role requires someone who is organized, proactive, accountable, resilient, and capable of handling challenging environments, tight timelines, and complex integrations. The candidate must be able to drive quality initiatives, organize Jira boards, manage defect triage, and guide the QA team effectively.

The QA Lead should also have awareness and understanding of AI integration opportunities within Jira and QA processes to help improve productivity, reporting, and quality management.

Key Responsibilities:
QA Leadership & Coordination
• Lead and manage QA activities for the ESD project across multiple teams and integrations.
• Mentor and guide QA testers on testing strategy, execution, defect management, and automation best practices.
• Coordinate with project managers, business analysts, developers, architects, operations, and external teams.
• Drive accountability, ownership, and quality-focused delivery within the QA team.
• Handle complex and high-pressure situations professionally and effectively.
• Escalate risks, blockers, and quality concerns proactively.

Test Planning & Quality Governance
• Create and manage:
o Test strategies
o Test plans
o Test scenarios
o Test execution tracking
o QA status reporting
• Ensure proper test coverage for functional, integration, regression, API, and end-to-end testing.
• Organize and maintain Jira boards, workflows, dashboards, and QA processes.
• Lead defect triage meetings and ensure proper defect lifecycle management.
• Track quality metrics and provide regular QA reporting to leadership.

Automation & Technical Oversight
• Provide guidance and oversight for automation testing frameworks using:
o Selenium
o RestAssured
o TestNG
• Ensure automation scripts are scalable, reusable, and maintainable.
• Review automation execution results and reporting.
• Understand TestNG reporting structure including pass/fail status, execution counts, and trends.
• Collaborate with automation testers to improve automation coverage and efficiency.

AI & Modern QA Practices
• Support AI integration initiatives related to Jira and QA processes.
• Identify opportunities to improve QA productivity using AI-enabled tools and automation.
• Assist in driving modern QA and intelligent testing practices within the organization.

Integration & Enterprise Testing
• Lead testing efforts for complex enterprise integrations and APIs.
• Coordinate SIT, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing activities.
• Work with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth testing across dependent systems.
• Ensure production readiness and release quality.

Strong hands on experience in:
- Selenium Automation Framework
- RestAssured API Testing
-TestNG Reporting
- Jira
- Integration testing
- Regression Testing
- Agile-Scrum environments
- Understanding of enterprise and complex system dependencies
- Strong leadership and mentorship ability (will be overseeing the work of 2 QAs offshore)
- Ability to work with difficult stakeholders

- Basic understanding of AI integration with Jira or QA processes is strongly preferred
- Experience coordinating with offshore/onshore teams
- Exposure to CI/CD and DevOps environments
