Job Description
We are seeking a highly experienced Data Migration Program / Project Manager to join the Professional Services team at Blue Planet, a software division of Ciena. In this role, you will be the primary delivery lead for complex, enterprise-scale data migration initiatives, acting as the face of Blue Planet to our customers while orchestrating cross-functional teams to deliver successful, low-risk migrations.
This position requires deep end-to-end ownership of data migration programs, spanning discovery, data profiling, mapping, transformation, validation, cutover, and post-migration stabilization. You will lead initiatives involving legacy system migration, platform consolidation, , and system integration, while ensuring data integrity, business continuity, and customer confidence.
This is a confident leader who can communicate clearly with customer, technical leaders, and internal stakeholders.
Pay Rate: $50-55HR based on expertise and experience

Required Skills & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree required, ideally in business management, communications, engineering or related field(s).
• Minimum 5 years of Project Management experience, preferably in professional services.
• PMP required (MBA or extensive experience in lieu of PMP).
• Excellent ability to interpret commercial documents and formulate plans accordingly.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong sense of personal accountability
• Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills, and experience interacting with both business and IT executive level personnel
• Strong competency of interpersonal skills, team leadership, business acumen, relationship building and conflict management.
• Strong ability to understand technical requirements and terminology to manage technical teams accordingly.
• Experience with Agile methodology, Scrum framework and SDLC process.
• Proficiency with Jira, MS Project, SharePoint and Excel
• Experience within a software company and working with tier 1 Telco’s.
• Ability and willingness to learn and incorporate new concepts and technologies.
• Ability/flexibility to work across multiple time zones.
• Ability to travel occasionally.
