Job Description
Insight Global is looking for a Data Analyst for one of our large industrial machinery clients. We are seeking a Data Analyst to support enterprise analytics by improving data quality, managing complex datasets, and building strong data foundations. This role is hands-on and technical, focused on data validation, normalization, documentation, and advanced analysis. You will work closely with IT and a growing AI team to ensure data is reliable, well-documented, and ready for analytics, automation, and AI use cases. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
- Analyze large, complex datasets (millions of rows) from structured and unstructured sources across data lakes and Microsoft Fabric environments.
- Write efficient SQL and Python code to extract, transform, validate, and clean data.
- Identify data quality issues, anomalies, and inconsistencies; implement sustainable solutions and automated data checks.
- Normalize and structure data to enable advanced analytics, trend analysis, and pattern discovery.
- Translate technical and business requirements into clear analytical outputs and documentation.
- Create and maintain strong data documentation, including data definitions, structures, lineage, and data glossaries.
- Collaborate closely with IT, Analytics, and a small AI team to support data pipelines, analytics initiatives, and automation opportunities.
- Contribute to data governance practices, including metadata management, observability, and quality frameworks.
- Communicate findings and data concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Required Skills & Experience
- 2–4+ years of experience in Data Analysis, Business Intelligence, Data Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and Python.
- Proven ability to analyze large-scale datasets (millions of rows) and work across multiple data sources.
- Experience with data validation, data quality cleanup, and analytical problem-solving.
- Hands-on experience extracting structured and instructed data from different tools, including Microsoft Fabric, Snowflake, Excel, data lakes, or similar platforms.
- Strong analytical thinking with the ability to independently investigate issues and identify root causes.
- Experience working in fast-paced, evolving environments and managing multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Experience with data governance tools (e.g., Microsoft Purview) and metadata management.
- Familiarity with AI and automation concepts, with the ability to identify opportunities where AI can improve analytics or efficiency.
- Bilingual in French and English.
