Job Description
The Superintendent is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all installation activities of a construction site according to project blueprints and schedule plans. Their duties include coordinating subcontractors, performing quality control and safety checks along with providing on-site direction when preparing construction sites for delivery. The Superintendent will also support the Project Manager with the overflow of all tasks, responsibilities, and inquiries.
The Superintendent is responsible for the success of the relationship between installing subcontractor and the company. It is anticipated that this position will be approximately 40-70% on-site contractor supervision depending upon site requirements and labor support needs. This is an exempt position and reports to the Technical Project Manager/ Project Manager or project specified individual based on site needs.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop and implement installation plans to ensure that all aspects of the construction project, including mechanical, electrical, and technology, meet the specified requirements.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure compliance with project drawings, specifications, safety standards, and building codes.
• Lead and manage the installation team, assigning tasks and responsibilities to ensure project milestones are achieved on time.
• Coordinate materials and equipment delivery with installation contractor, vendors and suppliers
• Manage, and resolve any issues that arise during the installation, quality, and commissioning process promptly and efficiently including drafting and submittal of RFIs related to concerns.
• Document all installation activities, including test results, F.O.A.K. scheduling, system performance, deficiencies, and provide regular progress reports to project stakeholders.
• Document project status per standards, and project requirements.
• Attend all required meetings that need management or technical support such as logistics, field coordination walks, quality walks, project status walks, BIM issues, and pull plan scheduling meetings.
• Implement management techniques that are cost-effective and efficient.
• Get buy-in from the installation team to allow for efficient implementation of the company’s project goals.
• Review shop drawings, provide and confirm accuracy of as-built documentation and support installation team on installation of equipment.
• Provide specification and installation requirement summary to installing team for efficient implementation in the field.
• Utilize VDC (BIM) model to coordinate and provide clash detection support to trade partners, peer contractors and LV subcontractor.
• Responsible for installation L1, L2 and any other related checklist documentation confirming it is project specific and current to progress.

Required Skills & Experience
• Strong Interactive Communication Skills. Including writing, speaking and active listening.
• Demonstrated leadership ability.
• Customer direct communication and coordination.
• Duration takeoff for scheduling of installation tasks.
• Experience with Data Center/Critical Facility Automation systems.
• Ability to work independently and unsupervised.
• In-depth understanding of local, state, and federal construction regulations.
• Organizational skills, including time management, delegation, prioritization and multitasking.
• Ability to work on active construction site, including walking long distances over rough terrain, climb ladders, use lifts and lift up 30lbs.
• Experience with Autodesk BIM products, Procore, Smartsheet or other Project Management Software.
• Strong MS Office skills especially Excel.
