Job Description
An employer is seeking a FPGA Engineer for a long-term opportunity in the Mason, OH area. This FPGA Engineer will be expected to work on site on a 9-80 schedule and participate in FPGA developments including requirements, system design, detailed design, and hardware integration on cutting-edge systems. The diverse product portfolio provides opportunities to work on ultra-high speed, ultra-large format infrared cameras, launch vehicle avionics, and orbital vehicle communications. The main responsibilities of the FPGA engineer will be a focus on product development for design, implementation, verification, and integration of VHDL components as well as participating in VHDL peer reviews. This is a cross functional role and communication with both internal and external customers will be required in addition to the analysis of component synthesis, timing, and clock domain crossings. The main deliverables will come in the form of internal design reviews, project management and technical estimating.

Required Skills & Experience
Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering (EE, EET or ECE) and minimum 8 years prior related experience; OR Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (EE, EET, or ECE) and minimum 4 years prior related experience;
FPGA and VHDL design including a minimum of 4 years of direct experience in: ModelSim/Questa or equivalent logic simulation tools, MATLAB/Simulink, standard streaming and memory mapped interfaces (Avalon, AMBA, etc.) and FPGA vendor tools (Microchip, Intel/Altera, AMD/Xilinx)
Proficiency in digital hardware design, interfaces, and architectures: NAND, NOR, and DDR memory interfaces and GigE, 10GigE, GigE Vision
Ability to work on site 9/80 schedule in Mason, OH
60% hardware, 40% software background is ideal fit
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Experience in design for test, quality, reliability, manufacturability, and EMC is a plus.
Experience in Agile Scrum development methods is a plus.
