Job Description
A company in the Delaware, OH area is looking for a Senior Controls Engineer to join their team to support the design, development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of manufacturing equipment and automation systems in a high‑volume production environment. This role partners closely with Production, Maintenance, and Engineering teams to ensure equipment reliability, efficiency, and safety across the plant.
Key Responsibilities
Demonstrate a safety‑first mindset, complying with all safety policies and procedures.
Design and draft electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic control systems for manufacturing equipment including robots, molding presses, and trimming presses.
Apply strong working knowledge of electricity, electronics, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
Collaborate with Production, Maintenance, and Engineering to review machine functions and optimize performance.
Develop and maintain PLC logic, sequencing, and timing control programs.
Review vendor schematics and designs to ensure proper machine operation and integration.
Coordinate tooling maintenance through preventative maintenance (PMs) and tooling work orders.
Enhance and modify existing equipment to improve quality, uptime, and efficiency.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and R&D efforts to support operational growth and future technologies.
Develop and maintain setup procedures and process documentation for tooling and equipment.
Support the design, installation, and relocation of manufacturing equipment on the production floor.
Program and troubleshoot industrial robots including FANUC, Motoman, and/or ABB.
Update and maintain equipment drawings and plant layouts using AutoCAD.
Assist with engineering projects as needed.

Required Skills & Experience
Associate’s Degree in Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related technical field.
5+ years of experience in advanced maintenance or controls engineering within a manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of electrical systems, hydraulics, and welding.
Proficiency with AutoCAD.
Hands‑on experience with PLCs and industrial robotics.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and make sound decisions in a fast‑paced environment.
Solid computer skills, including Excel and Outlook.
Ability to meet quality and productivity standards.
Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and manufacturing equipment.
Visual acuity requirements including peripheral vision and depth perception.
