Job Description

A client of Insight Global is looking to bring on a junior appraisal underwriter. The underwriter will review home appraisals to make sure the house is worth what the lender is about to loan. They will check the home value, comparable sales, and property condition. This role ensures homes are not overvalued, and loans meet internal and government lending guidelines.

Day to Day
• Receive appraisal from third-party appraiser
• Review comparable sales + property details
• Compare with analytics report
• Check against FHA/VA/conventional rules
• Identify errors and send back for fixes if needed (through the system agora)
• If an appraisal comes in at a score of 2.5, they will double-check the comps and review the valuation
• Communicate with internal partners to advise them of decisions regarding the approval
• Approve once it meets standards

• Bachelor's degree
• 3 years underwriting experience

Plusses
• Background in mortgage underwriting/just having knowledge of the mortgage industry
