Job Description

The Value Stream Manager is described as a "mini-CEO" of their value stream. The client has four value streams, each with its own dedicated manager. This open role is specifically for the Shell Delivery value stream, which covers the entire process from cutting ballistic material through forming, kitting, molding, sandblasting, and prepping helmets for paint — essentially everything before final assembly.

They manage through a structure that includes supervisors and leads (flex techs) reporting up to them. At full three-shift capacity, a Value Stream Manager could oversee up to 100 people across shifts.

Salary: 90-120k

Required Skills & Experience

Must-haves:
Minimum 5 years of experience — P&L responsibility
Strong Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement background (Kaizen, visual management, Six Sigma/Black Belt a plus)
Experience managing large teams in a single-piece flow / assembly line environment (not job shop)
Broad knowledge of financial performance, inventory control, and purchasing
Strong leadership and communication skills across departments

Key responsibilities include:
Managing daily output and ensuring the line runs smoothly
Overseeing people, standard work, and work instructions
Hitting daily, weekly, and monthly performance metrics (on-time delivery, scrap reduction, productivity improvement, inventory turns)
Leading and participating in GEMBA/SkuDIP meetings, Mission Control, and Material Review Board — at minimum 3–4 meetings per day
Participating in Tier 1, 2, and 3 meetings, including a weekly executive-level Tier 3
Leading Lean manufacturing, Kaizen events, and continuous improvement initiatives
Managing financial performance, inventory control, and cross-departmental communication (engineering, maintenance, quality, sales)
