Job Description

Day to Day:
Insight Global is seeking an Applications Analyst to work onsite in Cleveland, OH. The Applications (Finance, Tax & Benefits) Analyst is expected to perform all job duties with a commitment to providing superior service to clients, producing quality work products, and maintaining an atmosphere of teamwork and continuous improvement. Above all, the TSS Applications (Finance, Tax & Benefits) Analyst must meet the requirements of the position in a manner which is consistent with the Firm’s visions and values.
Daily Responsibilities:
• Capable of working independently to manage small to medium size project initiatives through planning, scope definition, analysis, testing, and implementation.
• Works as a member of a collaborative team responsible for business analysis, planning, integrating, testing, debugging, configuring, supporting, and documenting packaged applications; develops reports for users and business analysis; creates PowerShell scripts and macros for system support; collaborates and communicates with QA, support personnel, and other TSS teams and vendors on support of operational systems; consults with users in the development of tests programs using test data and appropriate files; reviews results with users; performs troubleshooting and problem resolution.
• Implements, integrates, and provides administration and support for purchased software using department standard best practices, including following department standards for change management and application support.
• Demonstrates and further develops knowledge and/or experience in department standard programming/scripting languages and software development platforms and tools to better facilitate application implementation and support of systems/programs that meet Firm requirements.
• May be asked to lead multi-disciplinary team to execute small to mid-sized project in lieu of project manager; coordinates communications between project team, TSS, and Firm business leaders; delegates assignments as needed; conducts day-to-day management of staff augmentation resources when required by project teams.
• Compares advantages and disadvantages of custom development and purchase alternatives; manages self to Work Breakdown Structures with hours estimates; prototypes and conducts tests of custom and third-party business solutions; prepares system requirements and design specifications/documentation.
• Interfaces with and manages vendor deliverables and acts as liaison and primary point of contact for assigned systems/platforms; installs and configures purchased/acquired software packages; performs required integration and scripting tasks required for implementation in the Jones Day technical environment; prepares architectural and workflow diagrams; maintains knowledge of product roadmap.
• Provides application and system administration and support; works with and coordinates with other IT services to implement and support applications.
• Performs required work outside of normal working hours as deemed necessary to meet the Firm’s objectives.
• Responsible for independently maintaining and upgrading skills through ongoing training, education, Firm sponsored educational events, self-study, and collaboration with peers.





Salary: $100,000-$125,000

Required Skills & Experience

• Solid understanding of technology areas such as cloud computing, identity security and access controls, and data analytics.
• Experience in all aspects of the systems implementation, management, and support.
• Highly developed communications skills, both written and oral, as well as strong facilitation and leadership skills and mentoring abilities.
• Capable of independently identifying, prioritizing and executing tasks to meet critical project deadlines.
• Exhibits good judgment and can recommend and produce solid solutions.
• Extensive knowledge of and strong skill in the following items from the Microsoft technology stack:
• SQL Server Database and SQL Development • Windows Powershell Scripting
• Microsoft SSMS, SSRS, and SSIS • Visual Studio and Team Foundation Server
• Microsoft Azure Fundamentals • Active Directory
• Windows Desktop/Server OS Administration • Service Now
• MS Office Product Suite
• Knowledge or experience with one or more of the Firm’s selected core technologies also a plus:
• Exchange/Outlook • SharePoint
• Aderant Expert • Microsoft Azure
• PowerBI Platform

• Conceptual knowledge of and development experience with delivery platform performance factors.
• Ability to work on multiple projects in parallel with changing priorities and periodic stress-oriented situations, and still meet deadlines.
• Ability to perform mathematical functions - add, subtract, multiply, divide, percentages.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred.
• Minimum eight years’ experience in application/system integration preferred.
• Experience in a law firm, corporate legal department, or comparable service industry is desirable.
