Job Description
- Inspecting asphalt placement (base, intermediate, surface courses) to ensure it meets project specs and ODOT standards
- Monitoring paving operations—temperatures, thickness, compaction, joints, and rolling patterns
- Performing or coordinating field tests, such as density testing and material sampling
- Verifying compliance with ODOT, municipal, and project-specific requirements
- Documenting daily activities, quantities, test results, and issues in inspection reports
- Coordinating with contractors, engineers, and project managers to resolve field issues
- Observing safety practices and flagging non-compliant or unsafe work immediately
Reviewing plans and specs to confirm work aligns with design and contract documents

Required Skills & Experience
- 5-10 years of experience minimum
- ODOT prequalification for a Structures Inspector
- Experience with concrete, asphalt, earthwork, and utility construction engineering services and inspection/testing.
- Paving experience
ACI Grade 1
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Civil engineering degree or related degree
