Job Description
Insight Global's client is a global aerospace manufacturer. The Human Resources Generalist supports daily HR operations for their Wheels division in Barberton, Ohio, partnering closely with supervisors, employees, and plant leadership. This role focuses on employee relations, recruiting support, onboarding, HR administration, and ensuring consistent application of policies and procedures. This is an on-site role requiring regular presence on the production floor and strong relationship‑building skills.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Provide day‑to‑day HR support to employees and supervisors across all shifts
Offer guidance to supervisors on corrective action and disciplinary processes to ensure consistency and compliance.
Assist with employee relations issues, including documentation, coaching, and policy interpretation
Support hourly and salaried recruiting efforts, including job postings, screening, scheduling, and onboarding.
Partner with hiring managers to support staffing needs and a positive candidate and onboarding experience.
Maintain accurate HR records, personnel files, and HRIS data
Administer attendance, corrective action, and other HR processes consistently and fairly
Coordinate new‑hire orientation and ensure a smooth onboarding experience
Assists Quality, EHS, Operations, and Maintenance teams in delivery and tracking of technical and job-based trainings for all roles.
Investigates, addresses and mediates conflicts, ensuring fair and consistent application of company policies.
Recommends and assists in developing local level policies and procedures.
Responsible for maintaining, organizing, and verifying the accuracy and completeness of employee paperwork for new hires, changes, and terminations.
Completes unemployment claims and answers requests.
Investigates, prepares and submits payroll adjustments for all staff in a timely manner and communicates adjustments to the relevant parties.
Updates and maintains the HRIS system (Oracle).
Coordinates site-wide communications and events in support of the lead team.
Support initiatives related to engagement, retention, and culture building
Gather employee feedback and identify engagement and retention trends.
Facilitate training on HR policies, leadership skills, and compliance topics
Assist with training coordination, compliance tracking, and communication of HR programs
Partner with EHS and Operations to reinforce safety expectations and reporting
Prepare HR reports and metrics such as turnover, attendance, and staffing updates.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
Assists other worksites in the division as necessary.

Required Skills & Experience
- 2-15 years of experience within HR and adjacent roles
- 2+ years in relevant environment such as manufacturing, industrial, or operations‑heavy
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or related
- Experience processing payroll
- Recruiting experience (specifically with hourly roles preferred)
- Familiarity with Ohio employment law such as FMLA, workers' comp, etc.
- Committed to employee engagement, training, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Able to work fully onsite M-F
- Flexible to come in outside of normal business hours for things like investigations on other shifts when needed
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Experienced working with unionized workforces
- Workbrain for payroll
- Experience with Oracle
- Experienced outside of HR, such as operations
- Flexible to visit either site in Barberton or Cleveland
