Job Description
Process: Provides the data integration scope / roadmap for interconnectivity of systems and
technology. Makes team assignments for incoming work via requests, incidents or projects,
ensuring that existing integration or functionality is not already available to mitigate redundancies.
Able to prioritize and triage workload to meet timelines. Assures team representation in testing,
implementation and upgrades.Assists with the build, implementation and technical support of
system integration technology (InterSystems, Epic Bridges, FHIR, HL7, FTP, SFTP) within the
hospital environment. Assists and participates in functional and integrated testing of system
integration technology. Provides post-implementation support for systems integration technology.
Assists with the maintenance of all integration tools and systems. Completes on-call
responsibilities as assigned. Maintains appropriate working documentation, data flows, and
interface/batch inventory. Expert in IT processes to include but not limited to analysis, design,
build, testing and change control. Ability to take complex assignments and successfully complete
in a timely fashion with minimal to no supervision required. Strong organizational skills.
Participates in Agile methodologies as well as traditional structured project management
approaches. Readily available after hours and weekends for escalations from team members.
• Collaboration: Collaborates with cross-functional design teams to design process workflows,
identify system integration opportunities and data interoperability roadmaps. Works closely with
other application teams and business partners in the role of System Integration subject matter
expert. Expert skills in driving team cohesion and collaboration efforts; team members are aware
of integration points across solutions and venues and work together in the design and validation
of these points. Consults with IT, Operations, Finance, Data Analytics, vendors and/or Novant
Health departments to analyze and design scripts, programs, databases, integration components
that will support data quality and delivery. This individual will possess a combination of business
knowledge, technical skills, and people skills to define and guide data strategy. Demonstrates
strong professional interpersonal skills in dealing with others.
• Analysis: Analyzes IT architecture requirements and system/application compatibility to implement
system integration across the enterprise. Strong analytical skills for new integration, problem
resolution and support of the real-time and batch interfaces. Expert-level solution knowledge with
the ability to effectively and efficiently troubleshoot services in complex integrated environments.
• Leadership: Leads team(s) of IT resources, vendors, consultants and customers in the
implementation of new or revised functions. Demonstrates leadership skills in problem solving,
education, quality assurance and effective communication. Ability to mentor Integration
Developers and Application Consultants in integration knowledge inside and outside the
organization. Experience in coordinating with PMO and development/technical teams to ensure
technical and application team alignment; teams are in sync regarding needs and upcoming
activities. Experience supporting product owners/project managers and project management
activities: assisting with development of engagement strategies and work plans, scope control,
assignment and oversight of resources, and road mapping. Demonstrates ability to develop
creative solutions to complex issues. Thinks strategically to help define the answers to the
changes within the organization. Coordinates implementation of new and revised functions with all
IT personnel, vendors, consultants and customers. Shows full ownership and accountability for
simple to complex assignments from start to finish. Strong change advocate for the organization,
showing flexibility as priorities change. Readily mentors and assist team members as needed
without being asked. Key resource to other team members and other teams, keeping the patient
at the center of focus for all tasks. Strong relationship management skills that include excellent
listening and consultative abilities. Establishes credible relationships with partners to drive
change.
• Quality Assurance: Ensures integration best practices and standard operating procedures are
followed. Participates in testing events, implementations, and upgrades.

Required Skills & Experience
Deep expertise with in-depth understanding of integrations using HL7 or FHIR standards,
including design, development, testing, deployment, and management.
• Proficient with programming and logic
• Proficient with XML, JSON, HL7 file formats
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools/processes to deploy containerized application
• Seeing through deliverables from conception to finished product.
• Understanding of Healthcare industry standards, HIPAA privacy and security rules.
• Experience with Agile software principles and developed software in a DevSecOps environment.
• Ability to troubleshoot failures and performing root cause analysis to identify deficiencies in data
and/or processes.
• Team oriented with strong interpersonal and communication skills. Excellent prioritization skills
