Job Description
One of our customers is seeking a Network Engineer to sit onsite in Raleigh/Knighdale to support networking and infrastructure initiatives across multiple factory locations. This individual will act as the liaison between the business, internal IT teams, and managed service providers while helping support the continued growth and expansion of the organization's manufacturing footprint. Daily responsibilities include coordinating WAN requests such as circuit orders, upgrades, and service changes; supporting local and special-purpose networks throughout manufacturing environments; working with vendors and service providers to ensure infrastructure delivery; reviewing site layouts to determine optimal network and wireless access point placement; and helping modernize and optimize legacy networking environments. The engineer will also review infrastructure designs, identify risks and non-standard implementations, support major incident escalations, and partner closely with manufacturing and cybersecurity teams to ensure infrastructure remains secure, scalable, and reliable.
This is not a pure network administration role or a pure vendor management position. The ideal candidate will have a strong networking engineering foundation and be comfortable remaining hands-on while also participating in infrastructure planning, architecture reviews, governance discussions, and vendor coordination efforts.

Required Skills & Experience
- 6-8+ years of IT Infrastructure, Network Engineering, or Infrastructure Operations experience supporting complex, multi-site enterprise environments
- Strong networking background including WAN, LAN, VLANs, routing, switching, network design review, and infrastructure troubleshooting using CISCO products
- Experience managing vendors, MSPs, and ISPs while partnering with both technical and business stakeholders to support infrastructure delivery
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Cisco certifications (CCNA, CCNP, CCIE)
- ITIL certification or experience with ITIL processes
- Cybersecurity or CISO organization exposure
- Experience with OT/IT integration and network segmentation
- Cloud infrastructure experience (Azure, AWS, Hybrid environments)
- Experience supporting Infosys, Deutsche Telekom, Spectrum, or other large service providers
- Experience supporting industrial or manufacturing network environments
- Experience with infrastructure governance and standardization initiatives
