Job Description
A client of Insight Global is seeking a Senior Consultant with deep expertise in Red Hat OpenShift to support secure, mission-critical environments. The ideal candidate will possess an IRS MBI clearance (active clearance highly preferred) and bring 6+ years of hands-on experience designing, implementing, and operating Kubernetes and containerization technologies at scale. In this role, the Senior Consultant will lead and advise on OpenShift platform engineering efforts with 3–4+ years of direct OpenShift experience, including OpenShift application development practices (build/deploy patterns, container-native design, and operational readiness) and OpenShift Virtualization for running and modernizing VM-based workloads alongside container workloads. The consultant will also drive DevOps automation, demonstrating 3+ years of experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitLab, GitHub, Jenkins, or similar, and will champion GitOps-based delivery models with 3+ years of experience implementing declarative configuration, automated drift detection, and environment promotion practices. Success in this position requires strong consulting skills—communicating clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating requirements into secure, scalable architectures, troubleshooting complex platform issues, and mentoring teams on best practices. Nice-to-have qualifications include experience with VMware or other virtualization technologies and familiarity with Ansible and/or other Red Hat technologies to accelerate automation, configuration management, and repeatable platform operations.

Required Skills & Experience
• IRS MBI Clearance (Active clearance highly preferred)
• 6+ years of overall experience in Kubernetes and Containerization technologies
• 3-4+ years of experience with OpenShift, including:
○ Experience with OpenShift Application Development
○ Experience with OpenShift Virtualization
• 3+ years of CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, GitHub, Jenkins, etc) and DevOps experience
3+ years of Gitops Experience
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Experience with Vmware or other virtualization technologies
Experience with Ansible or other Red Hat technologies
