Job Description
A client in the Raleigh area is seeking an experienced AI Software Engineer to join a production support engineering team responsible for the reliability, stability, and performance of AI‑driven and agentic systems operating at scale. This role focuses on supporting production AI services, responding to incidents, improving system resilience, and ensuring AI/LLM workflows run reliably in a regulated, enterprise environment. You will work heavily in Python, support AI/agent deployments in AWS, and partner closely with platform, SRE, and DevOps teams to maintain highly available systems through strong CI/CD and operational practices.
-Provide Tier 3 production support for AI‑enabled and agentic services, including troubleshooting complex issues across application, infrastructure, and deployment layers.
-Support deployed AI models and agentic workflows, ensuring availability, correctness, and predictable behavior in production environments.
-Diagnose and resolve incidents related to AI agents, model execution, pipelines, and backend services, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
-Develop and maintain Python-based services and utilities to improve system reliability, monitoring, and supportability.
-Collaborate with DevOps and platform teams to maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps and/or Jenkins) for safe, repeatable deployments.
-Monitor, support, and optimize AWS-hosted systems, including performance, scaling, and cost considerations.
Implement and enhance logging, alerting, monitoring, and observability to proactively identify and prevent issues.
-Drive continuous improvement by reducing incident frequency, improving mean time to resolution (MTTR), and strengthening operational runbooks and documentation.
-Participate in on-call or escalation rotations as needed to support critical production systems.

Required Skills & Experience
-8+ years of software engineering experience, with a strong emphasis on Python development in production environments.
-2+ years of hands-on AI / Agentic AI experience, including supporting deployed models or AI agents in real-world applications.
-Strong understanding of production CI/CD pipelines, with experience using Azure DevOps and/or Jenkins.
-Experience operating and supporting applications in an AWS cloud environment.
-Proven experience troubleshooting production systems, including distributed services and cloud-based architectures.
