Job Description

Our client is expanding its Learning Strategy function as the organization transitions from writing‑driven work to AI and increases its focus on high‑value strategic learning roles. The Learning Strategist serves as a customer-facing and internal-facing leader who defines learning direction, ensures solution quality, and oversees the full learning lifecycle from discovery to delivery.

This role conducts strategic learning analyses, uncovers unmet needs, develops curriculum and onboarding solutions, and provides total account management. The ideal candidate is AI-forward, highly strategic, agile, and experienced in the pharmaceutical, medical, or scientific environment.

Responsibilities

Strategic Learning & Solution Design
• Lead strategic learning approach analyses to diagnose gaps and define learning solutions
• Set direction and provide oversight on instructional strategy, quality, and execution
• Build and refine learning curricula, onboarding journeys, and sustainment tools
• Anticipate risks, outcomes, and stakeholder impacts
• Apply change management and communication best practices across projects

Client & Internal Partnership
• Serve as the primary strategic partner to customer stakeholders
• Work closely with project managers, business development, medical writers, designers, editorial, and production teams
• Support BD activities such as scoping, solutioning, pitch input, and client conversations
• Represent learning strategy in client meetings (virtual + onsite as needed)

AI-Forward Approach
• Utilize generative AI tools and AI agents to enhance solutioning
• Help guide the transition of writing-heavy work toward AI-enabled processes
• Identify where AI can drive efficiency, scale, and innovation

Required Skills & Experience

Industry & Functional Experience
• 5+ years in pharmaceutical, medical, or scientific environments
• 2+ years in field sales or supporting commercial sales organizations
• 2+ years instructional design experience (preferably supporting field sales training)
• Familiarity with US healthcare market access
• Understanding of Medical Science Liaison (MSL) roles and field expectations

Learning Strategy Expertise
• Proven ability to conduct learning needs analysis and build holistic learning solutions
• Experience with learning asset formats:
○ eLearning
○ Live workshops
○ PDF deliverables
○ Sustainment / reinforcement tools
• Experience developing curricula and onboarding programs

Skills & Mindset
• Strategic thinker with an agile, innovative mindset
• Highly organized, proactive, and coachable
• Strong communication and client‑facing presence
• Comfortable navigating complex, matrixed teams

Logistics
• Ability to work EST hours
• Up to 10% travel to client locations (NJ, Boston, Chicago)
