Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated Project Engineer to join our team and assume full technical ownership of assigned customer hardware, projects, and programs. This role involves responsibility for all technical aspects of assigned work—from single-part fabrication through complete solid rocket motor assembly manufacturing. The ideal candidate will possess a strong engineering foundation, process and tooling design experience, and the capability to lead medium-to-large projects from the start of employment in a fast-paced aerospace production environment.
Key Responsibilities
· Serve as the technical owner for assigned customer hardware, including all engineering, fabrication, and production activities.
· Lead the design, development, and implementation of manufacturing processes and full tooling systems to support component and assembly production.
· Maintain complete responsibility for tooling and process design, with guidance and approval oversight from Engineering
· Work collaboratively with technicians, engineers, and program managers to implement processes and oversee their successful execution.
· Support configuration management and process control documentation to maintain traceability and compliance with aerospace quality standards.
· Coordinate with Engineering, Equipment, and Production Managers to optimize manufacturing processes, tooling performance, and process efficiency.
· Identify and communicate raw material and subcomponent requirements to the Purchasing team in accordance with customer specifications and program timelines.
· Integrate all process-related data and schedules into the company’s ERP system for resource and production planning accuracy.
Support technical reviews, process validations, and continuous improvement efforts to enhance quality and delivery performance.

Required Skills & Experience
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering (or related technical discipline).
· 3–7 years of experience in project or manufacturing engineering within an aerospace, defense, or propulsion hardware environment.
· Proven ability to manage medium-to-large project responsibilities independently from initiation through completion.
· Strong understanding of precision machining, process design, and tooling development for aerospace components or propulsion systems.
· Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, NX, CATIA) and familiarity with ERP/MRP systems.
· Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
Effective communicator with a collaborative approach to cross-functional teamwork.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Preferred Qualifications:
· Experience with rocket propulsion hardware, composite or thermal materials, and complex aerospace assemblies.
· Familiarity with AS9100 or equivalent aerospace quality systems.
Knowledge of process validation methods and configuration management best practices.
