Job Description

This role is a lab support and sample intake position for an environmental testing team.
The person in this job receives environmental samples (like water, soil, or waste), checks them in, prepares them for testing, and makes sure everything is handled correctly and documented so the company stays in compliance with environmental regulations.
This person is not responsible for high‑level scientific decisions—they are following established procedures to ensure samples are properly logged, preserved, and ready for analysis.

What they do day to day
• Receive and log environmental samples when they arrive at the lab (sample receipt & chain of custody)
• Prepare samples for testing (labeling, preservation, handling, and storage)
• Use lab systems (LIMS) to track samples and data accurately
• Work with scientists and lab staff to support environmental testing programs
• Follow strict procedures and regulations to ensure compliance and audit readiness
Help with basic lab organization, documentation, and quality programs

Required Skills & Experience

• High School Diploma
• 1 year of related experience with a science degree
○ OR 5 years of directly related lab or environmental work experience with no degree
• Experience working with environmental or scientific samples (water, soil, waste, air, etc.)
• Experience in a Lab setting
• Comfortable following strict procedures (SOPs) and working in a regulated environment
• Proven ability to log, track, label, and document work accurately
• Basic Communication Skills - communicate with scientists, technicians, and supervisors (written & verbal)

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Experience using LIMS system
• Direct experience checking/labeling environmental samples
