Job Description
We are seeking an experienced LOTO Coordinator / Energy Marshal to support large-scale mission-critical data center construction projects. This role is responsible for overseeing energy isolation activities, coordinating Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) programs, and ensuring safe energization practices throughout construction, commissioning, startup, and turnover activities.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong electrical background, extensive knowledge of complex energy isolation systems, and hands-on experience supporting commissioning and startup activities within mission-critical environments. This is a highly field-focused role, with approximately 70% of time spent in the field working alongside construction, commissioning, and trade partner teams.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the site subject matter expert for Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and energy isolation activities.
Coordinate and monitor energy isolation activities across multiple contractors and trade partners.
Ensure trade partners are executing LOTO procedures in accordance with approved site requirements.
Conduct field audits and verification of energy isolation boundaries.
Work closely with commissioning teams, construction management, and client representatives to support startup and energization activities.
Review electrical one-line diagrams and assist in identifying energy sources and isolation requirements.
Support energization planning and coordination efforts across electrical and mechanical systems.
Participate in daily project coordination meetings and energization planning discussions.
Verify systems are in a safe condition prior to commissioning and startup activities.
Partner with client teams to maintain compliance with project energization standards and safety requirements.
Help eliminate arc flash and energy isolation risks through proactive planning and field oversight.
Monitor complex electrical and MEP systems within highly redundant critical facility environments.

Required Skills & Experience
10+ years of experience supporting mission-critical, data center, industrial, semiconductor, or other complex critical infrastructure projects.
Experience supporting commissioning, startup, and turnover activities for MEP systems on large-scale construction projects.
Extensive LOTO / hazardous energy isolation experience involving multiple energy sources and complex energy isolation boundaries.
Strong electrical background with the ability to read one-line drawings and understand switchgear, UPS systems, generators, ATS systems, transformers, and redundant power distribution systems.
Working knowledge of chilled water systems, cooling plants, HVAC infrastructure, piping systems, and mechanical energy isolation/depressurization procedures.
Previous experience as an Energy Marshal, Commissioning Manager, Electrical Superintendent, Critical Facilities Engineer, MEP Manager, QA/QC Electrical Manager, or similar role.
