Job Description
Insight Global is looking to hire on a Structural/Civil Engineer for a large manufacturing client in the Charlotte, NC area. This position is responsible for project management and process engineering services. The position will involve projects in their full scope from initial estimating, proposal submission, construction and start-up. The position will also be available to assist manufacturing plants with safety, quality, process optimization and productivity improvements. Responsibilities include:
• Design and evaluate structural steel systems, mezzanines, and concrete foundations for industrial and manufacturing facilities
• Provide engineering judgment on life-safety–related issues, including damage assessments
• Support plant-driven projects including facility expansions, equipment additions, and repairs
• Serve as an internal engineering resource for plant teams and non-technical stakeholders
• Travel to plant locations as needed
• Coordinate with external engineering firms for stamped drawings and permitting

Required Skills & Experience
- At least 5-10 years of experience working in a structural/ engineering position
- Strong experience with structural steel and concrete foundation design
- AutoCAD (2D/3D)
- Willingness to learn and adopt new tools; company invests in needed technology
- Experience in industrial or manufacturing environments
- Travel may be up to 50%
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Familiarity with RISA or similar structural analysis tools
- Exposure to 3D laser scanning, FARO equipment is used
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
