Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a detail-oriented Electronics Assembly Technician to support the build and testing of complex electronic systems in a fast-paced engineering environment. This role will focus on prototype development and low-to-mid volume production and requires strong electro-mechanical assembly experience and precision soldering skills.
Key Responsibilities
• Assemble electronic components including PCBs, enclosures, chassis, and sub-systems with high accuracy
• Build, route, and install custom wiring assemblies and cable harnesses to engineering specifications
• Perform high-quality soldering and rework on surface-mount and through-hole components
• Conduct board-level and system-level troubleshooting using tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and power supplies
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, assembly drawings, and bills of materials
• Create and maintain clear assembly documentation and work instructions
• Collaborate with engineers during prototype builds, design changes, and production transitions
• Maintain a clean, organized, and ESD-compliant work environment

Required Skills & Experience
• 2+ years of experience in electro-mechanical or electronics assembly within manufacturing or R&D environments
• Hands-on experience building cable harnesses and wiring assemblies (cutting, stripping, crimping, heat shrinking, etc.)
• Strong soldering skills, including experience with small surface-mount components (0402 or similar)
• Ability to perform precision rework on very small components (0201)
• Ability to read and follow electrical schematics and assembly instructions
• Experience using standard test equipment for troubleshooting and validation
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• IPC certifications (J-STD-001, IPC-A-610, and/or IPC/WHMA-A-620)
• Experience working with fine-pitch or high-density electronic assemblies
• Familiarity with ESD protocols and handling requirements
• Experience in aerospace, defense, medical device, or other regulated industries
