Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Senior Project Manager for a leading life sciences client. This individual will oversee large-scale, complex construction projects as part of a major campus expansion, taking ownership from active construction through commissioning and closeout. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in ground-up construction, strong technical knowledge across MEP systems, and the ability to challenge contractors on cost and quality. This role requires a hands-on leader who thrives in the field, can troubleshoot real-time construction issues, and confidently manage high-budget projects while driving schedules and financial performance. Experience in biotech or pharmaceutical environments is highly preferred. This is a 12 month contract with likely extensions, onsite in Tarrytown, NY, and has a pay range of 90-95$/hr.
Day-to-Day:
• Act as the lead Project Manager overseeing large capital construction projects
• Manage projects through active construction, commissioning, and closeout
• Review and challenge contractor costs, change orders, and proposals
• Provide technical oversight and troubleshooting for MEP and infrastructure issues
• Monitor budget, schedule, and quality compliance
• Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders
• Lead site activities and ensure alignment with project goals
• Oversee financial reporting, risk tracking, and forecasting
• Drive issue resolution and conflict management across project teams
• Ensure projects meet safety, compliance, and operational standards

Required Skills & Experience
• 15+ years of Project/Construction Management experience
• Strong ground-up construction experience
• Experience managing large-scale projects ($50M+ minimum, ideally $100M+)
• Background in Engineering or Construction Management
• Deep understanding of MEP systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, infrastructure)
• Proven experience in construction phase project management (design phase already complete)
• Strong experience communicating:
○ Change order review & negotiation
○ Cost validation / pushing back on contractors
○ Budgeting, forecasting, and financial oversight
• Experience overseeing projects from construction through closeout/commissioning
• Ability to troubleshoot onsite technical issues during construction
• Advanced Excel skills and experience being boots on the ground onsite
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Experience in biotech / pharma / life sciences environments
• Familiarity with Unifier/Primavera
• Experience working on campus expansions or large infrastructure programs
• Experience working on research labs, manufacturing, or scientific facilities
