Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Senior Power Systems Simulation Engineer for a leading engineering-focused client supporting advanced electrical systems development. This individual will be responsible for building high-fidelity simulation models, conducting grid and stability studies, and validating complex power system behaviors. The role involves close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to design, test, and optimize mission-critical power architectures, including real-time and hardware-in-the-loop environments. The ideal candidate thrives in solving challenging technical problems, has deep expertise in simulation tools like PSCAD, and can effectively translate detailed engineering analysis into actionable insights for both internal teams and external stakeholders.
DAY TO DAY
Develop and maintain electrical power system models
Perform grid simulations, transient studies, and stability analysis
Design and execute simulation scenarios for system performance
Validate control systems and support controls development
Conduct electrical system design reviews and recommend improvements
Support real-time simulation and HIL testing efforts
Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams
Troubleshoot system issues and optimize designs
Prepare technical documentation and reports
Present findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Support customer discussions, technical reviews, and engagements
Travel ~20% for project/customer needs

Experience working with large datasets
