Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Senior AIML Research Engineer for a top energy technology client. This candidate will join an advanced research organization focused on accelerating decarbonization, renewables, electrification, and next-generation grid technologies. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in artificial intelligence and machine learning, with a strong ability to develop scalable algorithms, analyze complex datasets, and create advanced diagnostic, prognostic, and modeling solutions for large-scale industrial and energy equipment. This role is ideal for a highly technical researcher who enjoys leading innovative R&D efforts, building prototypes, mentoring junior team members, driving intellectual property, and delivering AI solutions that solve real-world energy challenges.
Day-to-Day:
• Lead development of advanced artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithms
• Create AIML methodologies that support process and product innovation
• Analyze large datasets to uncover patterns, trends, and insights for diagnostics and prognostics
• Architect, optimize, and scale AIML models for performance and reliability
• Design, conduct, and supervise experiments to validate AIML-based solutions
• Develop advanced prototypes and proof-of-concepts to demonstrate technical feasibility
• Collaborate with engineers, researchers, product managers, and cross-functional teams
• Guide integration of AIML solutions into existing technology and system platforms
• Lead research initiatives focused on AI solutions for complex industrial and energy challenges
• Mentor junior researchers and support project leadership activities
• Document research findings, methodologies, and implementation strategies
• Stay current on AIML, control systems, and signal processing advancements
• Participate in literature reviews, conferences, seminars, and technical knowledge-sharing
• Drive IP development through invention disclosures and patent filings
• Publish research findings in scientific journals and present at industry conferences

Required Skills & Experience
• PhD with 10+ years of relevant experience OR Master’s degree with 8–13 years of relevant experience
• Strong background in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and related technical domains
• Proven experience applying advanced AIML concepts to real-world/practical applications
• Experience developing advanced algorithms and methodologies for AI/ML-driven innovation
• Strong experience analyzing large datasets to identify patterns, trends, and insights
• Background in diagnostics and/or prognostics for large-scale industrial or energy equipment
• Proficiency with AIML programming languages and frameworks, including:
o Python
o TensorFlow
o PyTorch
o Other common AI/ML frameworks
• Strong data analysis and manipulation experience using tools such as:
o pandas
o NumPy
• Experience with software development best practices, including:
o Git/version control
o Agile methodologies
o Reusable and scalable software development
• Demonstrated ability to build advanced prototypes and proof-of-concepts
• Strong leadership, mentoring, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Experience with diagnostics, prognostics, and modeling solutions for energy or industrial equipment
• Experience with control systems and signal processing engineering
• Experience integrating AIML solutions into existing system platforms
