Job Description
Key Responsibilities
1.Platform Strategy & Ownership
Own and manage integrations between Smartling and enterprise systems, including design tools, code repositories, and work management tools such as Jira, Figma, and Adobe Workfront.
Define and optimize automated intake and delivery workflows for product content, UI strings, release assets, and global content updates.
Partner with engineering, product, and digital teams to ensure localization requirements are embedded into product development and release planning.
2.Product Roadmapping & Deployment Readiness
Own the product roadmap for localization tooling, global content readiness, and deployment readiness across localized regions.
Drive continuous improvement for automated string extraction, internationalization (i18n), translation handoff, and release readiness processes.
Translate business priorities into a scalable localization backlog, balancing enterprise roadmap needs with technical feasibility and operational capacity.
3.Workflow Optimization & Automation
Configure and optimize Smartling routing rules to improve cost, quality, and turnaround time across translated and transcreated content.
Differentiate workflows for machine-translated content, human review, and high-impact human transcreation based on risk, audience, complexity, and launch criticality.
Use Smartling automation features, including NMT, visual context, and dynamic string translation, to reduce manual handoffs and protect agile delivery timelines.
4.Quality, Vendor & Linguistic Governance
Partner with translation vendors and internal linguists to maintain glossaries, style guides, terminology standards, and LQA workflows.
Establish quality expectations and escalation paths for linguistic defects, product-context issues, release-blocking risks, and vendor performance gaps.
Maintain alignment between localized product experiences, brand voice, regulatory considerations, and regional market expectations.
5. Metrics, Analytics & Executive Visibility
Define KPIs for localization speed, cost, quality, throughput, rework, and deployment readiness to ensure the global user experience meets enterprise benchmarks.
Build dashboards and reporting that provide visibility into localization performance, vendor outcomes, workflow health, and roadmap progress.
Use data to identify bottlenecks, prioritize automation opportunities, and recommend process improvements across product and localization operations.
6.Cross-Functional Stakeholder Engagement
Act as the primary liaison between localization, product, engineering, design, marketing, legal, digital, and vendor teams.
Educate stakeholders on localization best practices, content readiness standards, i18n considerations, and Smartling-enabled workflows.
Align stakeholders on requirements, timelines, ownership, launch risks, and quality expectations across global product releases.
