Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Financial/Business Analyst to support backlog reduction and improve the contractor payment process. This role will focus on reviewing payment data, resolving discrepancies, and helping business teams better interpret and act on operational data.

The ideal candidate is both analytical and consultative—able to uncover root causes, identify process gaps, and translate data insights into clear, actionable improvements that drive adoption across the business.

Key Responsibilities

- Review and validate large volumes of billing and payment data to ensure accuracy and completeness
Investigate and resolve outstanding or delayed payments by identifying root causes, gaps, or missing information
- Analyze data in systems (e.g., Cworx, Maximo) and dashboards to identify trends, discrepancies, and process inefficiencies
- Support backlog reduction efforts by closing out unreviewed or inaccurate transactions
- Partner with managers and internal teams to track down outliers and determine next steps for stalled items
- Gather feedback from business users to understand reporting challenges and tool adoption gaps
- Translate user feedback into actionable recommendations for process, reporting, or system improvements
- Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams to improve usability and data consumption
- Clearly communicate findings and insights to non-technical stakeholders and leadership

Required Skills & Experience

- 2–5+ years of experience in financial analysis, business analysis, or billing/operations support
- Strong experience with payment reconciliation, data validation, and issue resolution
- Ability to analyze dashboards/reporting and translate data into actionable insights
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders and ask effective questions
- Highly detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- Experience with billing/operational systems (e.g., Cworx, Maximo)
- Exposure to basic statistical analytics (e.g., trend analysis, regression, standard deviation)
