Job Description
Insight Global is working with a rapidly growing CNC service and support company specializing in precision grinding and turning equipment. They support leading European, Swiss and American machine tool brands including Kellenberger, Hardinge, Studer, Voumard, Usach, Supertec, and Hauser.
We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Field Service Technician capable of independently diagnosing and repairing complex mechanical, electrical, and control issues in the field. This role is best suited for a self-directed professional with strong experience in Fanuc-controlled grinding and turning platforms.
Position Overview
Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain CNC grinding and turning equipment
Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, servo, spindle, and control system issues
Perform precision machine alignments and preventive maintenance
Interpret electrical schematics, ladder logic, and mechanical drawings
Provide clear service documentation and professional customer communication
Support customers throughout the Northeast region with air travel across North America expected
Travel expected: 60 to 80 percent

Required Skills & Experience
5+ years CNC machine troubleshooting and field service experience
Experience diagnosing servo, spindle, drive, and I/O issues
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and ladder diagrams
Comfortable working independently at customer sites
Background in precision grinding equipment (OD/ID grinders strongly preferred)
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Experience servicing Studer and/or Hardinge machines
Familiarity with Siemens or other CNC controls (secondary)
OEM training experience (Kellenberger, Studer, Hardinge, etc.)
Machine geometry and alignment experience (ballbar, laser, level)
PLC troubleshooting experience
Hands-on experience with Fanuc CNC controls (0i, 16/18/21, or similar)
