Job Description

Day to Day:
• Review WERC Smart submissions for accuracy and timeliness
• Author SDS/MSDS and regulatory documents via WERC Smart
• Provide regulatory guidance for U.S. & Canadian retail compliance
• Support transportation and hazardous waste regulatory requirements
• Collaborate with product, programming, and customer service teams
• Assist with software testing, automation rules, and process improvements
• Respond to client and internal inquiries (email/phone/in person)
• Provide feedback to improve regulatory software and workflows

Required Skills & Experience

Must Haves:
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, Toxicology, or related STEM field
• Knowledge of chemicals in consumer products (CPG, industrial, retail, or manufacturing)
• Understanding of U.S. regulatory requirements, including:
o Product compliance
o Transportation regulations
o Hazardous waste
• Strong attention to detail and time management
• Collaborative personality — not siloed, comfortable cross functional work
• Willing to work hybrid in a UL office

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Plusses:
• Experience in CPG, industrial manufacturing, retail, or EHS environments
• Familiarity with Canadian regulations
• Early career experience (internships, co ops, 2–3 years full time)
• Interest in process improvement, automation, or systems optimization
