Job Description

Insight Global's client is seeking a Coding Operations Manager to support a growing plastic and reconstructive surgery practice in Red Bank, NJ. This is a newly created leadership role tied to organizational growth and the need for stronger management across the Coding and Health Information Management teams. This person will oversee day-to-day operations for a team of coders and HIM staff, with a heavy focus on people leadership, performance management, productivity tracking, accountability, and creating a more structured team culture.

This is not a production coding role. The ideal candidate does not need to be the strongest coder in the room, but they should understand coding and revenue cycle operations well enough to earn credibility with the team, roll out process changes, understand coding trends, and partner with technical coding subject matter experts. This manager will work closely with coding leadership, supervisors, RCM leaders, and physicians to address workflow issues, performance gaps, backlog concerns, and department-wide process improvements.

Key Responsibilities
•Manage the Coding and HIM teams, including coders, HIM staff, supervisors, and leads.
•Provide hands-on leadership, coaching, performance management, and corrective action when needed.
•Establish and enforce productivity expectations while monitoring daily output to prevent or reduce backlogs.
•Review productivity reports and identify trends related to volume, edits, quality, attendance, and workflow gaps.
•Partner with coding subject matter experts and supervisors to roll out process changes and ensure the team understands expectations.
•Support hiring, onboarding, workforce planning, retention, and turnover reduction as the department continues to grow.
•Represent Coding Operations in Revenue Cycle meetings and communicate updates, trends, and operational needs to leadership.
•Collaborate with physicians and department leaders when questions arise around coding decisions, documentation, edits, or backlog timing.
•Help build a stronger culture of accountability, availability, and change management within a team that has not had dedicated leadership in place.
•Identify operational gaps and implement scalable solutions that support continued growth across the department.

Compensation:
$85,000 $90,000 per year annual salary.

Benefits:
-Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, HSA and Long-Term Disability insurance
-401k and Profit sharing
