SRE/Splunk Architect

Day to Day:
Insight Global is searching for a SRE/Splunk Architect/Engineer to join the Global Markets Infrastructure Team for one of our largest financial clients. They seek an experienced, senior SRE/Architect who will help with a large-scale migration of critical Markets APS applications from their existing tool into a more strategic solution with Dynatrace and Splunk. They will come in having a base knowledge and experience in understanding Splunk architecture in order to build and configure dashboards in Splunk (using existing confirmations and pipelines). They will then help to automate the configuration utilizing IaC - building dashboards and onboarding applications through code using Terraform and Ansible.

On a day to day basis, they will collaborate with DevOps, SRE, and development teams to ensure the monitoring tools provide actionable insights into system performance and reliability.

Key Responsibilities include:
Design and implement monitoring pipelines using Splunk, Dynatrace, and OpenTelemetry. (OTel) -
Automate the deployment of monitoring tools using Terraform, Ansible, and Jenkins.
Manage configuration and version control with Bitbucket and Artifactory.
Ensure seamless integration of monitoring solutions into CI/CD pipelines.
Develop and maintain alerting, logging, and tracing solutions to support observability best practices.
Optimize monitoring configurations for performance, cost, and scalability.
Troubleshoot monitoring issues and provide root cause analysis for system incidents.
Document monitoring architectures, automation scripts, and best practices.
Stay updated on new monitoring technologies and advocate for improvements.

Must Haves:
2+ years of experience as an SRE/ Splunk Architect or Engineer in an enterprise level environment
Infrastructure as Code (laC): Hands on experience with Terraform for automating infrastructure deployment
Building CI/CD Pipelines from scratch and/or on top of existing frameworks. Proficiency in Jenkins and version control tools like Bitbucket
Expertise in Configuration Management-Need to have base understanding of how Splunk works, to build and configure dashboards, then automate that configuration
Experience with Ansible for automated deployments
Knowledge of Artifactory for package management
Experience configuring and managing OpenTelemetry (OTel) for Monitoring & Observability
Proficiency in Python, and Bash Shell Scripting for automation
Strong troubleshooting skills for diagnosing monitoring and performance issues for problem solving

Plusses:
Knowledge of Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana), Experience with Kafka and Kubernetes.
