Information Security Assessor

Insight Global is looking for an Information Security Assessor for one of our customers. In this role, you will perform hands‑on NIST 800‑171 assessments across client environments by evaluating compliance against 110 security controls and 320 assessment objectives. You’ll work directly with enterprise and application stakeholders to validate control implementation—such as encryption, access controls, and logging—while collecting and analyzing supporting evidence. Day to day, you’ll develop clear implementation statements, review and validate objective evidence, and author and maintain System Security Plans (SSPs) aligned to assessment results. You’ll document gaps, findings, and remediation inputs, ensuring all assessments meet NIST expectations and audit standards.

- Experience performing IT security risk assessments, Information Security and Third Party Security Assessments
- Understanding of security principles, IT security controls and related technologies and products
- Hands‑on experience performing NIST 800‑171 assessments
- Strong understanding of security control validation and evidence collection
- Experience producing SSPs (System Security Plans)
- Strong verbal/written communication, with ability to effectively interact with individuals at all levels of responsibility and authority
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously

- CISM, CRISC, and/or CISSP
